We provide a full range of monument renovation services across all Sydney cemeteries. Whether you have noticed a leaning headstone, faded lettering, a cracked slab or a plaque that needs replacing, our masons will assess the monument. We will then advise you honestly on what is needed, and carry out the work to a high standard.

We carry out a range of structural repairs including:
We assess each monument individually and will tell you honestly whether repair or replacement is the better course of action.

Many older cemetery plaques, particularly those made from marble, erode over time and eventually become unreadable. In most cases the best solution is to replace the old plaque with a new granite one. Because granite is engraved rather than painted, the lettering is permanent and will not fade.
We also replace damaged or broken granite and bronze plaques, matching the original design where possible or creating a new design to the family's preferences.

Painted enamel and gold leaf inscriptions do not last forever. Gold leaf typically needs re-gilding after approximately 25 years; painted lettering after 10–15 years. When an inscription becomes faded or difficult to read, re-lettering restores it to its original appearance.
Our re-lettering services include:

Where a monument has deteriorated significantly, a full restoration may be required. This involves a comprehensive assessment followed by a combination of cleaning, structural repairs, re-lettering and replacement of damaged elements.
We approach full restorations methodically, working through each component of the monument to bring it back to the best possible condition. We will provide a detailed quote covering all work before anything begins.

For most renovation jobs, a thorough professional clean is the starting point. Cleaning removes surface deposits such as dirt, lichen, moss and pollution staining which can obscure the true condition of the monument and make it difficult to assess what work is actually needed.
We usually include cleaning as part of all renovation assessments and quotes.
See our Headstone Cleaning page →Common signs include: the inscription is faded or difficult to read, the headstone is leaning or unstable, there are visible cracks in the stone or slab, the monument looks dull or discoloured, or a plaque has eroded. If you're unsure, send us a photo and we'll advise.
We work with granite, marble and sandstone monuments across all sections and all Sydney cemeteries. We will assess each monument individually and advise on the best approach.
It depends on the scope of work. A re-lettering job can typically be completed within 2–4 weeks. Structural repairs and full restorations may take longer depending on the work involved and the cemetery's permit process.
In many cases we can carry out repairs on-site. Where the monument needs to be removed, we handle the whole process including removal, repair and reinstallation completely.
